The Family and Children's ministry of Eastgate Church of the Nazarene exists to serve Christ and the children and families in the Roanoke community. We believe that our children, and by extension, their families are the future of our church. Keeping that in mind, we teach the truths of scripture on Sunday morning, help them apply that to their lives Sunday night through our Caravan program, and then to live it out during the week in our Wednesday evening program, Elevate. Our children's ministry can entertain kids, yet still teach them the time honored truths of God's Word and assist them in maturing as a Christian and reaching out to others in service.

Sunday Nights

Our Caravan program is similar to AWANA, Boy Scouts, or Girl Scouts in that it teaches character and service to others, but it also teaches scripture, important articles of faith, and historical figures within the Nazarene Church. Our Wednesday evening program is an outreach program designed for our children to bring their friends in to a fun, non-threatening atmosphere where we can have fun, yet inject the gospel into the teaching time where we teach character. Come back on Sunday evenings at 6:00 for Caravan, a Nazarene camping program.

. Wednesday Nights

Wednesday evenings we offer Elevate which is

a video based curriculum where children worship and learn about basic Christian beliefs in a fun environment that is fast paced and exciting, similar to what they are used to with all the gadgets and high-tech influences in their lives. Our Wednesday evening program for 1st - 3rd graders is called Elevate. It is an outreach program designed for our children to bring their friends in to a fun, non-threatening atmosphere where we can have fun, yet inject the gospel into the teaching time where we teach character. Our 4th and 5th grade students are taken off to a separate area where they are discipled and learn leadership, and service as a part of Kidz Krew. Separating them from the younger ones is designed to get our older students digging deeper in their faith. Kidz Krew meets on Wednesday evenings to prepare to serve on Sunday mornings throughout the school year.
